If you’ve been thinking about a four-legged hiking partner or a furry running buddy, then don’t miss the “Outward Hounds” virtual adoption event October 16-18

The Watauga Humane Society (WHS, Boone, NC), Modern Subaru, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) are joining forces to help you find the perfect  “Outward Hounds” to join you on all your outdoor adventures.

“Many of the dogs that come to us are larger and very energetic,” said Ashlee Yepez, WHS Director of Operations “They make great hiking, camping, boating buddies and we call them our “Outward Hounds.” This partnership with Subaru is just a natural fit for helping them find the best people for them.”

October is “Adopt-a-Dog” month and WHS has a target of helping 15 dogs find their forever home during this three day virtual adoption event.

The first 15 dogs that get adopted during the event will receive a reduced adoption fee, a harness and car restraint strap, and an ID chip and name tag. All dogs adopted during the event will be eligible to win several prizes including no adoption fee, a year’s membership to the WHS Dog Park, and goodie bags full of gifts for the dog and their people.
