Dogs can suffer from dimentia just like humans. About 68 percent of dogs ages 15 to 16, and 28 percent of dogs ages 11 to 12, are affected by Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS).

Many vets use the acronym DISHAAL to assess for cognitive dysfunction. DISHAAL stands for
- Disorientation

- Learning and memory impairment.
